Asset Management: Templates (Part 1)

With Asset Management, you register and manage all assets that you use in your services to your (internal) customers. Examples are the CMDB for IT departments. But also ARBO furniture, lockers, access passes and means of transport for HR and FM departments can be registered.

You can determine which assets you record in Asset Management, and which information you want to register for these assets. You do this in the template designer, where you can create custom templates. This page shows you the possibilities.

  • How to set up an asset template

Learn how to set up a new asset template. A simple but highly customizable template creator makes creating asset templates in TOPdesk easy and effective.

  • How to add a fieldset widget to an asset template

See how you add widgets with fields to an asset template. A fieldset widget enables you to create fields and drop-down menus for things like "Colour" or "Model Number" or "Purchase Date."

  • How to add the reservations widget to an asset template

Learn how to add the reservations widget to an asset template. This widget allows you to adjust whether the asset is available to operators (and/or users of the Self-Service Portal) for reservation.

  • How to add a dataset widget to an asset template

Learn how to add a dataset widget to an asset template. A dataset widget allows you to create a table for recording data on the asset card. For example, on an asset card for a company vehicle, you may want to record any trips longer than 50 km. You might then set up a dataset which collects information such as trip destination, duration, reason, etc.
